Groz-Beckert Highlights Energy-Efficient Knitting at ITMA ASIA 2026
November 7, 2026 | Textile Machinery Industry News
Groz-Beckert is set to highlight new developments in knitting technology at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2026, which will take place from November 20 to 24 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
The German textile technology supplier will present solutions across knitting, weaving, nonwovens, sewing, tufting and spinning. In the knitting segment, energy efficiency, process reliability and specialised applications will be among the key themes.
Energy Efficiency Takes a Larger Role in Circular Knitting
One of the main knitting highlights will be Groz-Beckert's LCmax energy-saving needle. According to the company, its wave-shaped shank geometry is designed to reduce friction while maintaining knitting performance and ease of handling.
The development reflects a wider industry focus on reducing energy consumption and improving production efficiency. For circular knitting mills operating continuously at high machine speeds, small improvements in friction, component performance and machine stability can become relevant factors in long-term operating costs.
New Solutions for Fine-Gauge and Specialised Knitting
Groz-Beckert will also present specialised needle technologies for different knitting applications. Its SAN TT is designed for particularly tight loops, while the SAN FY is intended for processing uneven effect yarns.
In cooperation with Sinotex, the company will demonstrate fine-gauge knitting using the Vosa Spec. 89.50-45 G016 spring-loaded latch needle. The application focuses on producing finer fabrics and tighter stitch structures for applications such as premium collars and sweater components.
Other knitting highlights will include durable needles for hosiery production and a compound needle developed for fine-gauge elastic fabrics in warp knitting.
Digital Services Also Enter the Knitting Workflow
Beyond physical components, Groz-Beckert will introduce an AI-powered WeChat chatbot for knitting customers in China. The service is designed to provide product information and handle product and price enquiries through natural-language interaction.
The combination of precision components, specialised knitting solutions and digital customer services illustrates how textile machinery suppliers are increasingly addressing both production efficiency and the information needs of manufacturers.
What It Means for Knitting Mills
The developments to be presented at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2026 highlight several priorities currently influencing knitting technology: lower energy consumption, stable high-speed operation, specialised fabric production and faster access to technical information.
For knitting mills, these trends also underline the importance of evaluating replacement components not only by basic compatibility, but also by their impact on machine performance, production stability and maintenance requirements.
QATTEX will continue to follow these developments as the textile machinery industry moves toward more efficient and increasingly digitalised knitting production.
